Stair Lighting Kit

This is a kit to build a stair lighting controller. This is a universal easy to build and install version of the prototype stair lighting unit that can be seen here. There are many options for building your own. Depending on your abilities and available parts you can get as little or as much from us to help. For example if you have all of the required hardware and just need the source code for the PIC microcontroller. It is available free of charge from the online store. We also offer the PIC chip separately, printed circuit board, all the way up to a fully assembled unit! All of the options can be seen in the store. To see more information about the kit including assembly instructions go here.

Button Code Kit – Single Button Code Entry System

button_code_108button_code_057

The Button Code is a system that allows a single button to act as a keypad. The user enters a 4 digit code into the system using button taps. The button can be placed where the public can access it since like a keypad there are many combinations to keep guessers from activation the system. When the correct code is entered a form-C relay is activated (Normally Open and Normally Closed relay contact). When activated it can either activate for a programmed time or simple toggle the output whenever the correct code is entered. Go to Project Page. Purchase the project in the online store.

Gear Clock Kit

The Gear Clock consists of a custom clock control board which drives a stepper motor to move the wood gears. The interface is very simple, it consists of two buttons. When the left button is pressed the clock advances time using the motor. When the right button is pressed the clock decrements time using the motor. The only issue is when you need to correct time by many hours you would have to keep the button pressed for a long time. The stepper motor is also always energized to prevent the gears from slipping. To overcome this issue when both buttons are pressed the stepper motor is deenergized and the minute gear can be spun freely.

IR Jammer – Infrared Remote Control Jammer

The IR Jammer is a fun project that provides a bit of safe, non-destructive fun. The Infrared Remote Control Jammer allows you to render all IR remote controls inoperative! The microcontroller in this design allows for all 6 of the main IR frequencies to be targeted making this unit universal. It works by corrupting the data that is being sent by your normal remote controls.
